In the 1980s and 1990s, there was a brief trend of making movies about children meetings aliens or other creatures, befriending them, and going on adventures. These were movies like ET, Mac and Me, Johnny 5, Badi, Lilo and Stitch, Free Willie, etc. Psycho Goreman takes that basic premise and reconstructs it with post-modern, irony poisoned sensibilities, creating a violent, gorey, hard-R flick. It’s funny, it’s fun.
